On Sunday, 8 June 2014, at the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the “Sfânta Treime” Parish in Düsseldorf celebrated its patronal feast with the joy of the Divine Liturgy and the Pentecost Vespers served by His Eminence Dr. Serafim Joantă, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Germany, Central and Northern Europe.
In his homily, the Metropolitan spoke about the importance of repentance in our effort to receive and to preserve the Holy Spirit within us.
At the end of the services, His Eminence appointed the parish priest, Fr. Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu, as protopresbyter, based on the metropolitan decree of 8 June 2014, entrusting him with coordinating the activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The children of the “Sfânta Treime” Parish in Düsseldorf, together with the faithful present, also congratulated His Eminence for 20 years of service as Metropolitan of Germany, Central and Northern Europe.
The festive meal followed, with many parishioners joining Metropolitan Dr. Serafim Joantă. The presence of Consul Valentin Cristian Florică from the Consulate General of Romania in Bonn was another reason for joy for the Romanian Orthodox faithful in Düsseldorf.
