On Sunday, 27 May 2018, the “Sfânta Treime” parish in Düsseldorf celebrated its patronal feast. The joy of the Romanian Orthodox faithful in Düsseldorf was heightened by the presence of His Eminence Dr. Serafim Joantă, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan for Germany, Central and Northern Europe. The Metropolitan celebrated the Sacrament of Holy Unction on the evening of Friday, 25 May 2018, and concluded with a spiritual evening.
At the Feast of Pentecost, His Eminence celebrated the Holy and Divine Liturgy and the Vespers of Pentecost, with many faithful attending. The concelebration included Protopresbyter Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu, parish priest; Hieromonk Siluan Cârstea; and Deacon Ovidiu Marius Cioară.
In his homily, the Metropolitan highlighted the ways a person can receive the Holy Spirit, emphasizing the delicacy that characterizes the Spirit’s relationship with the human soul. His Eminence also encouraged the faithful toward a life of prayer and repentance and toward attentiveness to the inner life—so important for salvation.
The feast continued with a festive meal lovingly prepared in advance by the parish faithful.
