On Sunday, 16 December 2018, the faithful of the Düsseldorf parish experienced an extraordinary event. After the Divine Liturgy, those present enjoyed a Christmas concert offered by the children’s group “Joy of Communion” from the “St. Nicholas” parish in Reghin-Apalina.
Guided by parish priest Dr. Vasile Farcaș and Prof. Dr. Maria Severina Farcaș, the carolers filled listeners’ hearts with deep emotion. A carefully chosen artistic program, high-quality performance, tender devotion, and intense communion made this concert a true blessing for those present.
The event was possible within an exchange program between Romanian Orthodox children in the diaspora and those in Romania, now in its third edition in the Düsseldorf parish.
“We encourage these exchanges because they are a true investment in people. It is a duty and an honor to facilitate this meeting between Romanian children in Germany and those at home. This program would not have been possible without the host families—whom we thank with all our hearts—resonating with our desire to promote this exchange. We believe this is how we motivate children to cultivate and multiply the gifts received from above,” said Fr. Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu.
“We’re glad we touched your hearts. We leave home satisfied that we fulfilled our mission to bring you joy. For us it was a true blessing to live this communion. We are grateful for the hospitality and love you showed us. We return home richer in spirit and happier to see the Romanian diaspora celebrating our faith and culture so beautifully. We carry you in our prayers,” said Fr. Dr. Vasile Farcaș, parish priest of the “St. Nicholas” Orthodox Church in Reghin-Apalina.
