As every year, the children of our parish prepared to honor Saint Nicholas with a program of songs and poems on Sunday, 9 December 2018, after the Divine Liturgy.
The two Sunday School groups performed both separately and together, reminding everyone present how beautiful and rich Romanian culture is. The children also honored the memory of those who made the Great Union of 1918 possible.
“It was a special celebration. We were filled with joy seeing how much the children of our parish have grown. We are grateful to the Lord that they have grown so beautifully here in the Church alongside us. A new generation is also emerging, with the youngest group already very large. It is a wonder to grow together in the joy of our faith and in appreciation of all that our Orthodox identity means,” said Protopresbyter Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu, parish priest of the Romanian Orthodox community in Düsseldorf.
At the end of the celebration, the children received gifts from St. Nicholas as a reward for their loving effort.
