First Confession#

On Sunday, 14 May 2023, the “Sf. Treime” Parish in Düsseldorf celebrated the joy of the children who took part in the catechetical program “First Confession.”

As always, the children who attended the weekly Sunday School classes and made their first confession this school year in our parish enjoyed a festive program just for them. After reciting the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer before the whole community, the children were the first to receive Holy Communion.

After the Divine Liturgy, each participant gave a testimony of faith about Christian joy, received a certificate for completing the “First Confession” program, gifts, and the community’s appreciation for their catechetical effort. “This is a first step in consciously integrating children into the parish. The results are beautiful. The children come to know that they belong in a special way to this community and appreciate far more the joy of being together at the Divine Liturgy and Sunday School classes,” said Protopresbyter Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu.

This year, too, teachers Ioana Pașca and Simona Ilea Pop prepared the children with great dedication—an effort that is the key to the success of the entire catechetical program.

The decor was expertly arranged by teacher Miruna Sandu.

The event is truly a celebration for the community, which looks forward each year to seeing the children’s joy in taking part in parish life.
