St. Nicholas and the Christmas Fair in Düsseldorf#

On Sunday, 8 December 2024, the Düsseldorf parish held the traditional St. Nicholas celebration.

Sunday School participants prepared artistic surprises for our community. The older group presented the play “St. Nicholas’ Rug,” while the younger children joyfully recited poems and Romanian carols.

St. Nicholas rewarded their effort accordingly and brought eagerly awaited gifts.

After the celebration, many faithful took part in the first Romanian Christmas Fair in Werstener Feld. Moments of fellowship were shared in a festive atmosphere, with traditional fasting treats enjoyed to the sound of carols.

The children decorated St. Nicholas’ Tree, which will remain on the site of the future Romanian Orthodox church in Düsseldorf-Wersten until the end of the winter holidays.

Protopresbyter Dr. Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu thanked teachers Ioana Pașca and Simona Pop, primary teacher Anișoara Aanicăi, and kindergarten teacher Tatiana Chelaru for their work on the celebration.

Special thanks were also offered to the Christmas Fair organizers, coordinated by the families Laura and Cătălin Moraru and Adina and Ionuț Popescu.
