Romanian History Circle

On Sunday, 4 March 2018, the first meeting of the Romanian History Circle took place within the Düsseldorf parish. The gathering began with a presentation on “The 1859 Union of the Romanian Principalities,” delivered by the circle’s coordinator, Mr. Paul Bagiu, a history graduate.

“Our intention is to hold these meetings regularly so we can approach the proposed topics—especially through the discussions that follow the presentation—covering more of the participants’ points of interest,” said Paul Bagiu.

“This first meeting of the Romanian History Circle is the first step in a cultural project of our parish meant to make us more aware of our identity. We are all glad that Mr. Paul Bagiu willingly and generously accepted to contribute to this project, which will focus on deepening the essential events of Romania’s modern and contemporary history. I was also glad that the parish teenagers showed interest in this project,” stated Protopresbyter Iosif-Cristian Rădulescu, parish priest of the Romanian Orthodox community in Düsseldorf.
