The Commemorative Year of Pastoral Care for Parents and Children began in the “Sfânta Treime” parish with a very special and eagerly awaited event: the visit of Fr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Constantin Necula.

On Friday, 31 January 2020, in Düsseldorf, the professor delivered the conference “How Do We Raise Ourselves as Parents of Our Children?”, emphasizing throughout how decisively parents’ behavior and way of relating shape children’s development. He also answered questions from the many attendees who came to listen and to share in the strength of his words.

On Sunday, 2 February 2020, the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord, the professor served the Divine Liturgy in the Düsseldorf parish, increasing the joy of the faithful through prayer together and through his homily, which offered a fresh explanation of the meanings of the feast.

After the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Constantin Necula spent the afternoon with members of the Association of Romanian Orthodox Youth in Germany (A.T.O.R.G), answering their questions. This meeting celebrated the International Day of Orthodox Youth, and the professor offered ways for young people to become more involved in parish life.
